Lithium-ion battery technology is a highly dynamic and rapidly moving field. Evonik is targeting this promising market with LITARION™ electrodes and SEPARION® separators. These two key components are specifically designed to increase the safety and performance of large-volume lithium-ion batteries.

The SEPARION® separator, a flexible ceramic, is Evonik's pioneer product entry into the Li-ion battery market. The separator is manufactured at the Evonik site in Marl/Germany.

The LITARION™ electrodes comprise anodes and cathodes and are produced by Evonik Litarion GmbH in Kamenz/Dresden in Germany and by the joint venture Degussa Enax Power Lion Technologies (Anqiu) Co. Ltd. in China.
